48-megapixel telephoto lens for better zoom shots
The telephoto lens on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with a 48-megapixel sensor for the first time. This would also bring the last camera in the trio up to date. Until now, the telephoto lens was the only one to operate at a lower resolution. What does this mean for you? Greater detail when zooming in, better portrait quality, and generally cleaner shots with less image noise. The front camera hasn't changed in a long time. Apple has been working with a 12-megapixel sensor for years. The iPhone 17 Pro and all other models in the 17 series (including the cheaper iPhone 17 and the new iPhone 17 Air) are now set to receive an upgrade: a new 24-megapixel TrueDepth camera is planned.
