A leak from China reveals exciting details: The iPhone Fold will feature two high-resolution displays and an under-display camera in the inner screen. The project is slowly taking shape.

Two displays with different focus

According to the leak, the iPhone Fold will have two screens. The main internal display measures 7.76 inches diagonally. The resolution is 2,713 x 1,920 pixels. This results in a pixel density of 428 ppi. This makes the display almost as large as a small iPad mini, but foldable and housed in a smartphone case. The dimensions roughly correspond to an earlier estimate by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who in March spoke of a 7.8-inch internal display. This puts the new figure in line with previous rumors. The pixel density is 460 ppi, which is on par with current iPhone displays. This should make the device feel pleasantly small in the hand when closed, comparable to the iPhone 13 mini, which was 5.4 inches. For comparison: The smallest iPhone of the current generation, the iPhone 16, starts at 6.1 inches. The Fold significantly undercuts that.
