According to an analyst report, Microsoft is already working on a foldable Surface. Some of the specifications are also said to be known.
Microsoft plans to release a small foldable tablet in the first half of 2020, at least that's what IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin claims - the rumor is not new. In his report to Forbes, he cites information from suppliers. According to this, the foldable Microsoft tablet will appear with two 9-inch screens with an aspect ratio of 4:3. According to Lin, the new foldable Surface will support Apple's iCloud services under Windows 10, among other things. The device will also be powered by an Intel 10nm Lakefield chip.
"Centaurus" in development
Reports emerged earlier this year that Microsoft was planning a mobile dual-screen device with the code name “Centaurus”. In view of the problems that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold already had, it is exciting to see Microsoft's foldable solution. The question also remains open as to how the company plans to offer its own Android app store separate from the Google Play Store.
