The next Worldwide Developer Conference – WWDC 2022 – starts in a few days. Now a new report reports on the new features in iPadOS 16.

A new report from Bloomberg provides insight into what awaits us. According to the report, Apple is planning "major changes" for iPadOS to satisfy "professional users." The report comes from Mark Gurman, who also reported has revealed that iOS 16 will include support for the Always-On Display on the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro. Apple made small changes to how users access the iPad's multitasking features last year with iPadOS 15. Now, it's reported that iPadOS 16 will feature "a redesigned multitasking interface that makes it easier to see which apps are open and switch between tasks." The update will also offer new ways to resize app windows and manage multiple apps at once.

iPadOS 16: The biggest update in the history of the iPad

The next major software update for iPad, iPadOS 16, will have a redesigned multitasking interface that makes it easier to see which apps are open and switch between tasks. It will also let users resize app windows and provide new ways to operate multiple apps at once.

The update is being described as "one of the biggest upgrades" Apple will unveil at WWDC next week. Apple's goal is to make iPadOS more of a laptop-like experience in terms of multitasking and window support. This isn't the first time we've heard of major changes for iPadOS 16. Changes to the WebKit infrastructure recently suggested that iPadOS 16 could introduce a new "multitasking mode," bringing resizable windows to the iPad for the first time. WWDC 2022 begins on Monday, June 6, with an Apple keynote at 7:00 p.m. (CET). As always, we'll be covering the keynote and the rest of the week in detail. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
