WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature that will allow users to better control who can and cannot see their “Last Seen” status.
As WABetaInfo reports, WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to give all of a user's contacts access to their "Last Seen" status while simultaneously preventing certain contacts from seeing it at all. writes the blog:
WhatsApp “Last Online” status gets new option
A few years ago, WhatsApp introduced three privacy settings: Last Seen, Profile Picture, and About. These settings allow you to decide who can see your data. To manage these privacy settings, WhatsApp introduced three options: Everyone, My Contacts, and No One. This meant that if you didn't want a specific contact to see your "Last Seen," you had to set the "Last Seen" privacy setting to "No One." Today, WhatsApp is finally working on introducing another option called "My Contacts Except...", so users can finally enable or disable their status for specific contacts!
This change will certainly please some users who only want to share their "Last Seen" status with specific people. Since the new feature is currently being tested, it's unknown when it will be rolled out to all users. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
