Official sales start on October 26th. Apple distributed the first test devices to selected press representatives worldwide. These include The Verge, Wired, Engadget, TechCrunch and Cnet. Now there are the first statements about the camera, battery life and display.
display
The iPhone Xr has the same pixel density as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7, with 828 x 1792 pixels and 326 ppi. Those switching from one of these devices won't notice any difference in resolution. Testers rated the display as "good." The difference to OLED models is immediately apparent in a direct comparison. The biggest advantage here is the OLED model's black level, according to TechCrunch. Nevertheless, the iPhone Xr's excellent LCD is impressive.
camera
Apple has installed the same 12-megapixel camera in the iPhone Xr as in the Xs series - but with only one camera lens. That's why the portrait mode with depth of field is created using software and is only limited to people. According to the testers, the photo results are still very good. The pictures should turn out well even in poor lighting conditions.
battery life
According to Apple, the iPhone Xr should last a full 90 minutes longer than the iPhone 8 Plus. The results are surprisingly good. The new LCD device is said to be a battery miracle. With a whopping 11 hours and 26 minutes of battery life, the iPhone Xr is clearly ahead of the current iPhone line-up. In comparison, the iPhone Xs is said to have only managed 9 hours and 41 minutes. (iPhone Xs Max: 10 hours and 38 minutes)
performance
Because the iPhone Xr has the same processor as the iPhone Xs series, there are no differences in performance.
