At the end of last year, Apple entered into another partnership with Amazon, bringing Apple Podcasts to Amazon Echo and Fire TV devices. The service is now also available in Germany.
Apple fans who like to listen to podcasts and have an Amazon Echo device can now ask Alexa to play a podcast from Apple's range. Support for this service is finally available in this country. To use the new feature To use it, the Apple ID must be linked to the Alexa application – similar to using Apple Music with Alexa.
Set Apple Podcast as your default podcast provider
Furthermore, a skill called Apple Podcasts must be installed. Once set up, users can ask Alexa to play a podcast. The playback progress is automatically synchronized with the Apple Podcasts app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. However, the voice command must include the reference "on Apple Podcasts." If you don't want that, you can optionally set Apple Podcasts as Alexa's default podcast provider. Amazon is the first third-party client to gain access to Apple Podcasts. The service was previously only available on Apple devices. New look, new sound – The new Echo (4th generation) – pre-order now on Amazon. (Image: Amazon)
