iPad Pro MiniLED display: Persistent rumors give hope
The report notes that manufacturer Epistar has expressed "optimism" about shipping MiniLED products later this year, i.e., in the second and third quarters of 2021. According to company president Fan Chin-Yung, "large-volume shipments" were postponed from late 2020 to the new year due to delays in product certification. It is unclear whether any Apple products were affected by this reported delay. At the beginning of 2020, it was repeatedly claimed that Apple planned to introduce at least one new MiniLED product in late 2020 or early 2021. Both DigiTimes and other sources, including The Elec and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, have previously indicated that Apple is working on several new products with MiniLED displays. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that Apple will deliver the first hardware update of 2021 in just a few weeks. (Photo by Denis Rozhnovsky / Bigstockphoto)
