It's hard to believe but it's true. Commerzbank has finally announced support for Apple Pay.
Today's announcement comes as something of a surprise. In a simple social media post, the financial institution announced its imminent support for Apple Pay. However, no specific launch date was given. The announcement could be as early as 2019 or as late as 2020. The post stated: "The wait is almost over." When asked when the launch could be expected, Commerzbank's social media team stated that a date would be announced "soon."
Sparkasse shortly before launch
While Commerzbank is working on the introduction of Apple Pay, Sparkasse is already in the starting blocks. Last week The financial institution published its own website with a focus on Apple Pay. Now local branches seem to be making customers aware of it, as reported in various forums. Even if it is hard to believe after such a long time, the launch of Apple Pay at Sparkasse should be soon.
