iOS Leak: Screenshot shows Dark Mode on iOS 13 for the first time

by Milan
May 28, 2019

WWDC 2019 will take place on June 3rd – just a week before the big event, the first screenshots have appeared, which are said to show, among other things, the long-awaited dark mode in iOS 13.

Apple presents the new versions of macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS every year at the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference). One thing is certain: it will be a big year for iOS – this has already been clear from various leaks Now the US platform 9to5mac has been sent pictures that show, among other things, the dark mode under iOS 13 on an iPhone. According to them, the dark mode can be activated or deactivated via the settings or the control center. On the home screen, the only noticeable change is the dock itself - if the dark mode is activated, it turns darker. Of course, it can be assumed that Apple will integrate suitable background images into the new operating system. If you look at an app like Music in dark mode - see the second image - you can see that Apple uses a real black background, which of course looks great on an OLED device.

Save power with Dark Mode

The function can also refer to the battery life of an iPhone with OLED displays, because here the rule is: a black pixel consumes hardly any power compared to an actively used pixel. The third image shows another interesting change in iOS 13. When a screenshot is edited, the background is no longer white but gray. As mentioned in a previous report, the "Reminders" application is receiving a comprehensive redesign in iOS 13 and macOS 10.15. On the iPad, the new app has a large sidebar with separate fields for "Today," "Planned," "Starred," and "All," which also includes a search field and a collection of a user's reminder lists.

Two in One

The Friends app and iPhone Find My will become one in the future – leaks revealed this a few weeks ago. A new image has also been released for this. The image shows the new app icon. The app itself will be called “Find My” and will include all the features of its predecessors and more. The new application displays a large map that fills the entire screen of an iPhone or iPad. A small window appears in the corner, listing all of the user’s friends and family members. Another tab displays all of the user’s devices. When dark mode is enabled, the map looks exactly like maps on macOS with dark mode enabled – the source told 9to5mac.

Apple is expected to unveil iOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 and macOS 10.15 next Monday. The first developer betas for all four operating systems are expected to be released after the keynote.
