iOS 17 and Co.: Release dates are set – all information here!

Exciting news awaits all Apple users! During the "Wonderlust" event, Apple announced the release dates for some of the hotly anticipated software updates. Here is an overview of when you can expect which updates.

Long awaited by Apple fans around the world, the technology giant recently released the Release Candidate versions (RC) of its operating systems iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17 and watchOS 10 publishedThese exciting updates will be available to users worldwide next week and promise numerous new features and improvements.

iOS 17 and iPadOS 17

These two updates, which will revolutionize the world of iPhones and iPads, will be available starting September 18. They have been grabbing users' attention since their announcement at WWDC 2023 in June. iOS 17 brings exciting new features like the customizable "Contact Poster" for interactions with other iPhone users, voicemail support for FaceTime calls, and improved AirDrop features. iPadOS 17 offers a new lock screen, improved drawing tools, and more. However, the update says goodbye to some iPad models. According to Apple's website, the first-generation iPad Pro and fifth-generation iPad will no longer be supported by iPadOS 17. Here is a list of all the iPhones that will receive the update:

  • iPhone XS and XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 and 12 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max
  • iPhone 13 and 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max
  • iPhone 14 series
  • iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)

tvOS 17 and HomePod Software 17

Apple TV and HomePod also have exciting updates coming, which will also be available starting September 18. tvOS 17 brings a redesigned Control Center for Apple TV and the ability to find the Siri Remote using iPhone. You can also set up VPN via third-party apps. HomePod software 17 lets you ask Siri to play media from iPhone apps. There are also new voices for Siri and a more convenient way to activate Siri.

watchOS 10

The Apple Watch is not forgotten either. The watchOS 10 update will be available starting Monday, September 18. With new widgets, redesigned system apps, and enhanced cycling training features, your Apple Watch will become even more powerful.

macOS 14 Sonoma

If you're a Mac user, you'll be excited about macOS 14 Sonoma. This exciting update will be available to everyone starting September 26. It features interactive widgets, dynamic screen savers, and extensive improvements to Safari. However, note that not all Mac models are compatible. Here's a list of compatible devices for macOS 14 Sonoma:
