Apple released the release candidate versions of iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, tvOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5 and macOS 13.4 for registered developers this evening.
Apple has now officially released the release candidate versions of iOS 16.5, iPadOS 16.5, tvOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5 and macOS 13.4. As a reminder, Apple announced at the end of last year that the term "Release Candidate" would replace the previous term "Golden Master". In future, Apple will use this term to refer to a beta version that is nearing completion. According to Apple, the updates will be made available to all users worldwide next week.
iOS 16.5 new features
While attention is already turning to iOS 17, which will be unveiled next month at WWDC, iOS 16.5 doesn't contain many notable changes. iOS 16.5 adds new screenshot commands to Siri, allowing you to start or stop a screen recording via the virtual assistant. It also expands the Apple News app with a dedicated "Sports" tab, which sports fans have repeatedly requested. Additionally, it fixes bugs and improves security.
