Apple has quietly extended the service program for the AirPods Pro, which have “sound problems.”
In the past, some users have complained about sound problems with the Pro version of the popular earbuds. Static noises or a kind of crackling were heard. There are also cases where active noise cancellation does not work as expected. For this reason, Apple launched a service program in October 2020. calledNow Apple has quietly extended the repair program intended for AirPods Pro produced before October 2020. Reddit user matejamm1 discovered the changes to the program in a post on the Reddit subreddit r/AirPods, noting that the change will take effect exactly when the first AirPods Pro, which will be sold in October 2019, turn two years old.
AirPods Pro and sound problems
On the "AirPods Pro Sound Issues Service Program" page, it states that the program "covers affected AirPods Pro for 3 years after the first sale." The company further explains that the issue affects devices manufactured before October 2020. The problems include crackling and static noise in noisy environments. Issues with active noise cancellation are also a concern. Anyone experiencing the above-mentioned issues can contact Apple or an authorized service provider. But be careful, the white earbuds will, of course, be examined by a technician for said malfunctions. (Photo by Unsplash / Mark Farías)
