Apple has now officially introduced a new feature for Apple Fitness+ via press release. “Time to Walk” is a new experience while walking.

Apple has introduced a new Fitness+ feature for the Apple Watch called "Time to Walk". The feature offers "an inspiring new audio walking experience on Apple Watch for Fitness+ subscribers". Cupertino wants to encourage users to take regular walks. The feature, which was leaked earlier this month, is described by Apple as follows described:

Apple today introduced Time to Walk, an inspiring new audio walking experience on Apple Watch for Fitness+ subscribers, designed to encourage users to walk more often and reap the benefits of one of the healthiest activities. Each original Time to Walk episode invites users to immerse themselves in a walk alongside influential and interesting people as they share thoughtful and meaningful stories, photos and music. Time to Walk can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere with an Apple Watch and AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones.

Apple Fitness+: Four “Time to Walk” episodes at launch

Apple emphasizes that each Time to Walk episode is "inspired by the guest's personal, life-defining moments" and "shot while walking outdoors or in places that are meaningful to them." At the launch of Time to Walk, there are four episodes, which have been cast as follows:

  • Country music star Dolly Parton has won nine GRAMMYs and is also an acclaimed actress, businesswoman and humanitarian. Dolly reflects on her career, family and growing up in rural Tennessee. "I've loved hiking since I was a little girl in the Smoky Mountains," says Parton. "I think it's so important to get out and walk during this time when we can. I think best when I'm walking. And while many of us are feeling cooped up during this time, I hope people will take a walk down memory lane with me and we can all feel a little more freedom if we take the time to walk together."
  • NBA player Draymond Green won three basketball championships with the Golden State Warriors and helped change the way the game is played. He reflects on the virtues of failure and turning off criticism. "There's nothing like taking a walk in nature, getting lost in your thoughts and taking a deep breath," Green says. "Take all the stress of the day and let it blow away with the wind. I hope that sharing my stories with those who walk with me gives them the same drive to pursue their dreams as I did in pursuing mine."

Shawn Mendes & Uzo Aduba also participate

  • Musician Shawn Mendes went viral on social media at 15, had his first platinum album by 19, and has toured the world. He shares how a slower pace has helped him personally and creatively. "Walking is a great way to clear your head," says Mendes. "It's the simplest thing you can do to calm, reflect, and slow down your body and soul. I hope people feel the same sense of calm I get from walking, and that they can apply that to their own experiences."
  • Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba rose to fame on the show "Orange Is the New Black," but only after many rejections. She talks about lifelong relationships and keeping the faith. "I love walking, either alone or with my dog," says Aduba. "It's a time to connect with myself and have the conversations that often get overlooked throughout the day, and it brings me peace of mind. The experience of walking and telling my stories gave me that familiar feeling that comes with walking, answering questions that need to be answered and addressing issues that need to be addressed. I'm so excited to share that with those who take the time to walk with me."
