A jailbreak for iPhone and iPad devices is nothing new these days. But a jailbreak for the HomePod is – Checkra1n makes it possible.
The HomePod operating system based on tvOS since iOS 13.4Apple never communicated the change, but it does provide greater stability and improved availability. Now, for the first time, there's a jailbreak for the classic HomePod. The latest Checkra1n update can crack Apple's Siri speaker in addition to iPhones and iPads. The jailbreak on the first-generation HomePod was discovered by a user known as L1ngL1ng. It's currently unknown what "advantages" a jailbreak will have on the HomePod. For example, it could unlock Bluetooth connectivity or enable a new virtual assistant.
Note, please note:
If you are not familiar with jailbreaking, you should not under any circumstances try to blindly crack your iPhone or iPad - this also applies to the HomePod. This process completely removes all software-based restrictions. For example, users are able to install applications outside of the App Store on the device. In addition, practically the entire system can be modified - removing all blockages also voids the warranty and makes the device vulnerable. Consequently, laypeople should avoid jailbreaking, as in this case the damage will be greater than the benefit. For more details on the HomePod jailbreak, see the official website by Checkra1n.
