For about two weeks now, there have been reports that Apple wants to sell the iPhone 12 series without EarPods and a power adapter. Instead, only the charging cable will be included. Now a picture has emerged that is supposed to show the inside of the packaging.
Various analysts and leakers claim that Apple plans to sell new iPhone models this year without accessories. The new iPhone SE will also soon have its power adapter and EarPods removed. Those who absolutely need the accessories will have the option to purchase them separately. Now the Instagram account @conceptsiphone has published an image that appears to show the inner shell of the new iPhone packaging. It includes a compartment for the Lightning to USB-C cable and the iPhone itself. However, there is no space for EarPods or a power adapter. According to the comment, the image is from a "really reliable" source.
iPhone 12 prices remain at last year's level
This time, the rumor should be viewed with real skepticism, as the authenticity cannot be verified – even if it does indeed look like Apple is now removing the accessory. The accurate analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already claimed that Apple will not increase the prices for the iPhone 12 models but will focus on the iPhone 11 level The manufacturing costs will increase due to the integration of 5G - to compensate for this, both the power adapter and the EarPods are to be saved. Of course, the benefits for the environment cannot be ignored. This step would not be new, by the way. Apple removed the power adapter from the Apple Watch Series 3 some time ago. The popular smartwatch will therefore only be delivered with the magnetic charging cable. (Photo by bigtunaonline / Bigstockphoto)
