YouTube has announced a new feature via a new Twitter post. It's called video chapters and has been requested by fans for a long time.
YouTube has started rolling out a new feature that is available on both the web and mobile versions. Video Chapters is designed to put an end to the annoying search by fast-forwarding. It will make it easier to search through videos for specific content. Some YouTubers have created manual timestamps and included them in the description. Users still had to fast-forward even if they already knew the time. This will be made easier in the future, according to Twitter.
Use subject to conditions
This means YouTubers can activate the "Video Chapters" feature by adding timestamps to the description. These will then appear in the progress bar along with a topic description and a thumbnail. For the feature to work, videos must contain at least three chapters, each at least 10 seconds long or longer. Since the feature is currently being rolled out worldwide, not everyone may have access to it immediately. However, this should change in the next few days.
