Apple boss Tim Cook is currently in Ireland - one of the reasons for this trip is an award that was given to Apple in recognition of its 40-year history in the country. Cook spoke to IDA Ireland CEO Martin Shanahan during the trip.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IDA Ireland is a government agency specifically responsible for foreign direct investment in Ireland. It was also the agency that presented the award mentioned above to Tim Cook. During a conversation, Cook was asked a particular question. Shanahan wanted to know which technological development could be considered the biggest in the next five to ten years. The answer is augmented reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I'm excited about AR. I think it's the next big thing and it's going to change our whole lives. Yesterday I visited a development company called War Ducks in Dublin - 15 people working on AR for games. You can imagine - for games it's incredible, but also for our discussion here. You and I might be talking about an article and with AR we can pull it up and we can both look at the same content at the same time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As the conversation continued, Cook also emphasized that augmented reality is not meant to isolate people but to bring them together in a different way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think it's something that doesn't isolate people. We can use it to enrich our discussion rather than as a replacement for the human connection that I've always been very concerned about with some other technologies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In addition to AR, the topic of health was also addressed. Cook hinted at Apple's work on advanced technologies - but he did not go into detail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the money in health care goes to cases that were not caught early enough. It will take some time, but the things we are doing now - which I will not talk about today - give me a lot of reason for hope.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Two valuable details emerge from this conversation. Firstly, Apple's tireless work to advance in the field of health and secondly, Apple's interest in augmented reality. There have been countless reports on both areas for a long time. Accordingly, AR glasses from Apple should become a reality very soon - there are already leaks to this effect.
