Rumors about the next iPhone generation have been circulating for months \u2013 now there are new clues in the area of camera technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a DigiTimes report, Apple could improve the stabilization technology for the camera in the new iPhone. The company is currently using optical image stabilization - but this could supposedly be expanded or even replaced with the help of sensor-shift stabilization technology. As a reminder: The iPhone 11 Pro has optical image stabilization in the telephoto and wide-angle lenses - the ultra-wide-angle camera has to make do without such technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transfer or extension?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While optical image stabilization moves directly around the lens element, the sensor shift function moves the sensor directly in the camera module. According to the DigiTimes source, it is currently unclear whether Apple wants to completely replace optical image stabilization with the new technology or simply expand it. Alternatively, the sensor shift stabilization technology could also be intended for the ultra-wide-angle lens. However, since this is a report from DigiTimes, the rumor should be viewed with skepticism - other sources may confirm the claim in the near future.
