Less than two weeks before the keynote, a glimpse of what the new Siri will look like in iOS 27 is emerging. Apple is expected to reveal the final colors in its own WWDC materials \u2013 combined with a surprising design decision that is likely to spark discussion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple's WWDC preparations have apparently progressed to the point where a concrete image of the new Siri is beginning to emerge. It was already noticed in mid-April that the Siri design of iOS 27 was likely hidden in the WWDC invitation<\/a> \u2013 now Mark Gurman goes a step further. In the latest Power On newsletter, he describes<\/a> the specific colors and theming guidelines Apple has already internally defined. This means the visual aspect of the update is gradually aligning with the already known functional details of the revamped Siri<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WWDC graphic previews the Siri design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gurman's observation is specific: The current WWDC logo that Apple displays on its developer page<\/a> uses precisely the colors that will later appear in the animation and input fields of the new Siri. It's a combination of gold tones, blue hues, bright white, and dark undertones \u2013 presented in a glow effect that wraps around the stylized Swift bird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This "glow" characteristic is intended to be reflected directly in the redesigned voice assistant. The blinking cursor in the new Siri interface, additional UI elements, and the surrounding areas of the input fields will all adopt this exact color palette. Anyone who views Apple's current presentation at WWDC 2026 will therefore already be getting a preview of the final Siri look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dark Theme \u2013 also in Light Mode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second piece of news from the report is considerably more surprising: The new Siri will only appear in a dark theme, without a light mode variant. This applies even if the iPhone is running in light mode system-wide. The search\/question bar at the top of iOS 27 will have a dark background, in which the cursor will blink in the aforementioned colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This design decision deviates from previous iOS logic. Until now, system elements have adapted to the global appearance setting. With the new Siri, Apple is deliberately breaking this pattern \u2013 presumably because the Glow animation is significantly more vivid on a dark background than on a light one. The consequence: Even Light Mode users will experience Siri in a dark appearance starting with iOS 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the WWDC animation suggests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gurman's current assessment builds on an earlier observation. Back in April, he described how the glow effect in the first WWDC teaser visually resembled the blinking cursor of the new Siri interface. Today, he goes further, mentioning two additional elements: the specific color palette and the dark theme concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This establishes a remarkably direct link between Apple event materials and the final product design. While Apple has occasionally hidden hints of upcoming features in event graphics in the past, such an explicit preview of the final look is considered unusual. If Gurman is correct, the combination of teaser animation and product UI would be one of the most direct preview presentations Apple has ever attempted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visual debate surrounding Siri is more than just about design. With iOS 27, Apple wants to demonstrate that the voice assistant has finally reached a new level after years of delays \u2013 and this is meant to be visually apparent. The Glow concept serves as a visual hallmark for this AI relaunch, which extends far beyond mere aesthetics. Behind the new animations is a Siri that, according to previous reports, will be capable of conversation for the first time, powered by Apple's Gemini-based AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
