A well-connected leaker from China describes a prototype with an unusual front: The front camera is still housed in a hole in the panel, while Face ID is completely hidden beneath the display.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2027 holds a special significance for Apple: the iPhone will turn 20. For months, reports have been circulating about an edge-to-edge, curved display \u2013 the vision of an iPhone that appears to be made almost entirely of glass. A new clue from the supply chain now suggests that this design leap is taking concrete form. This aligns with Apple's existing roadmap for its anniversary model<\/a>, but raises new questions about differentiation \u2013 and ultimately, what the device will be called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leaker doesn't mention a specific model name \u2013 neither "Pro" nor a number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internationally, this has resulted in a colorful array of names: some media outlets refer to it as the "iPhone 19 Pro," others as the "iPhone 20," assuming that Apple is skipping the number 19 for the 20th anniversary \u2013 similar to what happened when it went from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone X. Both are interpretations, not official statements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front of the prototype in detail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The device described features a display that is curved on all four edges<\/strong> \u2013 meaning it not only curves on the sides, but also at the top and bottom, seamlessly blending into the frame. Apple is positioning the 20th Anniversary iPhone as an additional premium tier above the existing Pro models \u2013 with a completely unobstructed front, a fully concealed front camera, and a corresponding price premium. Option two: Anniversary model replaces the Pro Max<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Pro and anniversary models share the quad-curved display; the anniversary model distinguishes itself only through its completely concealed front camera and exclusive materials.
