WhatsApp is working on a new feature that could significantly simplify communication. For iPhone users, an automatic message translation is emerging, integrated directly into chats and intended to reduce language barriers in everyday life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information comes from the current TestFlight beta, discovered by WABetaInfo<\/a>. The feature isn't officially released yet, but the details clearly indicate the direction of development. It's based on Apple's own translation technology, which runs directly on the device, thus combining privacy and speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automatic translation in chat<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The beta version includes a "Translate messages" toggle that can be activated for each chat. When enabled, incoming messages are automatically translated. Users can also specify the source and target languages. For example, the translation is automatically set to English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The translation is based on Apple's language packs and processed directly on the iPhone, thus preserving end-to-end encryption. Currently, 21 languages are supported, including German, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and others. New languages are added automatically as soon as Apple adds them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
