Since introducing the AirPods Max in 2020, Apple has barely changed its over-ear headphones. Aside from a minor USB-C update in 2024, the design and technology remained virtually unchanged. Now, however, evidence is mounting that Apple is working on a true second generation\u2014the AirPods Max 2. Until then, the current model will likely remain in the range for some time.
