The iPhone 17 is just around the corner from its official launch, and like every year, the rumor mill is buzzing. In addition to technical details, accessories are also increasingly coming into focus. The TechWoven cases, in particular, are generating speculation. New leaks show cases with an unusually high number of holes\u2014a total of seven on the bottom alone. The images raise questions: Is Apple breaking new ground in accessories with the iPhone 17? Every new iPhone brings accessory manufacturers and leakers into action. The iPhone 17 is no exception. In recent weeks, an increasing number of images and information have surfaced about a rumored line of cases that Apple itself could launch. The cases are called TechWoven cases \u2013 made of a fabric-like material and featuring striking cutouts on the bottom. According to several leaks, these details are based on a well-thought-out concept: the integration of a crossbody strap. A leaker known as Majin Bu published<\/a> another image of the alleged TechWoven cases for the iPhone 17 on the X platform (formerly Twitter). It shows five stacked cases, apparently made of the same fabric material as previously leaked models. What's striking about the new image is the number of visible openings on the bottom: seven in total. In addition to the familiar cutouts for the USB-C port and speakers, there are two additional holes in the corners of the case. These appear to be intended for attachment points\u2014possibly for a lanyard or crossbody strap. Previous images also show the same corner holes, but this time in conjunction with the cases, suggesting that this feature is an integral part of the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

References to a new belt system<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In an earlier leak, Majin Bu had already mentioned the cases' compatibility with a so-called crossbody strap. If this information is correct, Apple could be introducing its own carrying system for the first time with the iPhone 17, based on bag or camera straps. The concept wouldn't be entirely new, but it would be unusual for Apple. Another leak from Bu recently followed<\/a> , showing images of a nylon strap with magnetic ends. However, according to current assessments, this strap doesn't fit the hole openings in the TechWoven cases. The holes appear to be designed for mechanical attachment\u2014such as a snap hook or loop\u2014not magnets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of attaching an iPhone to a cord using only magnets seems impractical anyway. A secure hold is essential, especially for an expensive device like the iPhone 17. Despite the wealth of detail in the leaks, there are legitimate doubts about their origin. Majin Bu has admitted several times in the past that some of the images he shares could have come from third parties. Accessory manufacturers produce prototypes long before market launch, often based on unconfirmed rumors. Many of these are replicas or interpretations of suspected Apple designs. The line between original and imitation is often blurred in this area. The quality of BU's leaks has also recently declined. Many of his posts are based on previously circulating information without providing any new insights. It seems as if he's hoping to hit the jackpot with the TechWoven theory by repeatedly bringing up the topic.
