With iOS 26, Apple is introducing a feature that's especially interesting for users who listen to music or podcasts through headphones before falling asleep. The new option detects when you've fallen asleep and automatically pauses playback. This not only saves battery life but also saves the last part of the song you were listening to. Many people drift off to sleep in the evening with music, an audiobook, or a podcast. The problem is that the headphones keep playing even when you've stopped listening. iOS 26 solves this problem with a practical new feature. The system probably uses data from sensors in the headphones, such as motion or sound sensors, to determine whether you are still actively listening. As soon as you fall asleep, playback is paused. If you install iOS 26, the new sleep feature should be enabled automatically. You can also enable it manually.
