If you're interested in Apple products, you may have already noticed that the iPhone 17 Pro is getting another visual change. This time, it's not about new cameras or processors, but rather a detail that seems insignificant at first glance: the Apple logo on the back. A leaker claims that Apple is planning to reposition the logo. It sounds unspectacular at first, but it could have an impact on accessories and design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the iPhone 11, the Apple logo has been centered on the back. Before that, it was slightly offset. With the introduction of MagSafe and new camera layouts, the overall design has evolved several times, but the logo has remained in place. Now there are indications that Apple is planning a new move with the iPhone 17 Pro, moving the logo higher\u2014directly below the camera unit. The source isn't undisputed, but interesting enough to warrant a closer look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leaker Majin Bu has X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) and explained in a blog post that Apple no longer wants to place the logo in the middle of the iPhone 17 Pro. Instead, it will be centered directly below the new, wide camera bar. The top of the back of the iPhone 17 Pro will be almost entirely taken up by this bar. This would inevitably shift the position of the logo - away from the center and towards the top half. According to Majin Bu, the new positioning should ensure that the logo remains more visible, even with a case. He claims that the first phone case manufacturers are already adjusting their designs. In a shared example, a cutout in the case can be seen that leaves the Apple logo free in the new position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the truth behind this rumor?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Majin Bu is no stranger, but his accuracy rate when it comes to Apple rumors is mixed. He's been right in the past, though \u2013 for example, with the color name "Desert Titanium" for the iPhone 16 Pro long before it was official. This at least makes his current statements plausible. Furthermore, with the iPhone 11, case manufacturers already revealed through their case designs that Apple was repositioning the logo. Apple also changed the logo back then \u2013 moving it to the center for the first time. So, the fact that there's another such "premature" signal from the accessories industry isn't entirely out of the blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why would Apple do this?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For Apple, the design of the iPhone is more than just looks. It's also about brand impact, recognition, and functionality. If the iPhone 17 Pro does indeed feature a completely new camera unit that dominates the upper part of the back, it makes sense from a design perspective to move the Apple logo slightly lower. This way, it remains visible and in balance with the rest of the design. Furthermore, Apple probably doesn't want MagSafe accessories to obscure the logo. If manufacturers adjust their MagSafe placement, this could be another indication that the new layout is really coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
