The telephoto lens on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with a 48-megapixel sensor for the first time. This would also bring the last camera in the trio up to date. Until now, the telephoto lens was the only one to operate at a lower resolution. What does this mean for you? Greater detail when zooming in, better portrait quality, and generally cleaner shots with less image noise. It's also possible that Apple will adjust the default zoom level in the camera app. It's currently five times zoom.
