Apple has unveiled iOS 26 and introduced a new display option with the update: "Clear Look." In addition to the familiar light and dark modes, this is the first time there's a third display mode. The new feature is part of a comprehensive visual redesign being implemented with iOS 26. The final version will be released this fall; developers can already use iOS 26 as a beta, and a public test version will follow next month.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the introduction of Dark Mode, Apple has long held onto the iOS interface. iOS 26 now features the biggest design overhaul since iOS 7. At the heart of this is "Clear Look," a new display option that focuses on greater transparency, dynamism, and a modern visual experience. Apple calls this a "Liquid Glass" design language, which is being used for the first time on the iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new "Clear Look" mode functions as a third display option alongside light and dark modes. The idea behind it: a visual presentation that uses translucent elements. The user interface consists of several layers that partially reveal background content. This creates a transparent, almost glassy appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the static light or dark mode, "Clear Look" is dynamic. The display adapts not only to the light but also to the context. New design system across all platforms<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With iOS 26, Apple is introducing a new universal design system that will apply not only to the iPhone, but also to the iPad, Mac, and other devices. The goal is to create a consistent design language without neglecting the unique characteristics of each device. "Clear Look" is a central component of this system and demonstrates how elements can behave similarly across devices, yet differently depending on the context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

App icons and widgets in a new look<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The app icons have been redesigned for iOS 26. They use the "Liquid Glass" material developed by Apple for "Clear Look." This material is slightly transparent, reacts to lighting conditions, and blends into the environment. Widgets and other interface elements are also aligned with this new design.
