The reasoning was that it would have been an extraordinary step to conduct proceedings completely secretly \u2013 without it even being known that a hearing was taking place. According to the ruling, the judges do not accept the argument that the mere disclosure of the existence of the case would be detrimental to public safety. On the contrary: the principle of open justice takes precedence.
