Apple has announced that the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC25) will take place from June 9 to 13, 2025. As in previous years, the conference will be entirely online and free for all developers. There will also be a special in-person event on June 9 at Apple Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WWDC is one of the most important events in Apple's calendar. It's primarily aimed at developers, but is also open to students. Every year, Apple unveils new software versions, showcases developer tools, and offers technical sessions. For many, WWDC is an opportunity to interact directly with Apple teams, learn about new frameworks, and learn about the latest developments in the Apple ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date and format<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

WWDC25 runs from Monday, June 9, to Friday, June 13, 2025. The event will be held entirely online and accessible for free through several platforms: the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keynote and Platforms State of the Union<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The event kicks off on June 9 with the official Apple keynote. Apple will unveil the latest versions of its operating systems\u2014including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. This will be followed immediately by the Platforms State of the Union session, a detailed overview of the new features and tools for developers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Videos, sessions and labs<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the week, there will be various on-demand videos in which Apple engineers and designers explain features in detail. Additionally, online labs are planned where you can ask questions and get feedback on your projects. The content is designed to be suitable for both experienced developers and beginners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-site event at Apple Park<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On June 9, Apple is also hosting an event at Apple Park. There, you can watch the keynote and the Platforms State of the Union alongside other attendees, interact directly with Apple experts, and participate in group or individual labs. Seats are limited. Swift Student Challenge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Another element of WWDC is the Swift Student Challenge, a competition for school and university students. Participants can submit their own projects. The winners will be notified on March 27, 2025. They will have the opportunity to apply for the on-site event at Apple Park. In addition, 50 so-called Distinguished Winners will be honored for particularly outstanding contributions. These will participate in a three-day experiential program in Cupertino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
