Apple is apparently working on a foldable iPhone, which is scheduled to launch in 2026. Speculation about such a device has been circulating for years, but now evidence from reliable sources is accumulating. Industry experts such as Mark Gurman, Ming-Chi Kuo, and Jeff Pu are providing concrete details about the design, features, and planned market launch. Even though Apple itself hasn't made an official statement yet, it's now pretty clear where the project is headed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While other manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola have been offering foldable smartphones for some time, Apple has so far been sitting out the trend. Design: Book format like the Galaxy Z Fold<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning a book-style device similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. It will open lengthwise, not horizontally like the Galaxy Z Flip. When folded, the iPhone will be about 9 to 9.5 millimeters thick, and when unfolded, only about 4.5 to 4.8 millimeters thick. This keeps the device relatively slim despite the folding mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foldable iPhone is expected to have two screens. On the outside, you'll get a 5.5-inch display that functions like a regular iPhone. Apple apparently plans to use titanium for the casing, which should make the device both lightweight and sturdy. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the hinge is made from a combination of titanium, stainless steel, and so-called liquid metal. The latter is intended to help increase durability and prevent the formation of visible creases in the display.
