Apple is once again in the spotlight of rumors. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the company is working on several versions of a new Studio Display. The question is whether these are different models or simply different prototypes. Particularly intriguing: There are references to two code names \u2013 J427 and J527. External displays are an important accessory for Apple users, especially for professional applications. The current Studio Display was released in 2022 and is aimed primarily at creatives who want to use macOS in combination with a high-quality display. An interesting point: The number "27" in the codename J527 suggests that it could be a 27-inch display. This corresponds to the size of the current Studio Display (via Bloomberg<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A third Studio Display or a new Pro Display XDR?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Things get even more exciting when you consider the possibility of a Pro Display XDR successor. Apple's high-end monitor for professional users was introduced in 2019 and is now almost six years old. Could the J527 be a new Pro Display XDR? Gurman himself remains cautious about making a clear distinction. He estimates it could be a Studio Display Pro\u2014a more powerful version of the Studio Display with better specifications. Another theory is that Apple is testing the second-generation Studio Display with various technical options before deciding on a final version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple hasn't officially released any details about the new displays yet. According to Gurman, the J427 model isn't expected to be released until 2026 at the earliest.
