This article explains what this feature does, why it is essential to activate it, and how to do it best.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to reports of a new method in which thieves are stealing iPhones and sniffing passcodes to gain access to sensitive data, Apple has developed Stolen Device Protection. This feature is a critical step in increasing the security of your device by preventing access to important features and data without biometric authentication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-was-bewirkt-der-schutz-fur-gestohlene-gerate\">What does stolen device protection do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Stolen Device Protection in iOS 17.3 and later makes it much harder for thieves to access the password-protected data of a stolen iPhone. Here are some key features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Biometric security measures: Only Face ID or Touch ID allows access to iCloud Keychain, wipe and lost mode options, and purchases in Safari.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security delay: There is a one-hour delay for sensitive actions such as changing your Apple ID password, unless the device is in a trusted location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-wie-aktiviere-ich-diese-funktion\">How do I activate this feature?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable stolen device protection, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure your iPhone has at least iOS 17.3.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the Settings app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap \u201cFace ID &amp; Passcode\u201d or \u201cTouch ID &amp; Passcode,\u201d depending on your model.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your passcode.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down and select Stolen Device Protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activate the switch and confirm with \u201cTurn on\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bedenke-die-sicherheit-zu-hause-und-unterwegs\">Consider safety at home and on the go<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your iPhone is running iOS 17.4 or later, you can set additional security settings.
