GPT, or Generative Pre-training Transformer, is the technology behind the popular ChatGPT. The new version, called GPT-4, represents a "huge leap in natural language processing." According to the developers, GPT-4 is able to better understand and produce more human-like text and solve more difficult problems with greater accuracy. On Twitter, developer Morten Just shown<\/a>how he used GPT-4 to create an iPhone app that recommends five new movies to the user every day - he simply instructed the AI to use Apple's SwiftUI language and specified that the app should display trailers and the streaming platforms where each movie is available. Amazingly, GPT-4 provided the code for an iPhone app that did exactly what the developer asked. As seen in a video, the code resulted in a fully functional app that displays a list of five different movies with a description and trailer for each movie. The developer said that the first version had some bugs. However, GPT-4 fixed them and apologized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's clearer than ever that artificial intelligence is on the rise and examples like this show the impact it will have on our lives. Apple, for example, is said to be working on similar technology for its platforms. Earlier this year, The Information reported that the company wants users to be able to create their own apps with Siri in the future. With GPT-4, this seems to be possible. Imagine if Apple would one day integrate some kind of AI into its Swift Playgrounds tool or even Xcode. This would not only make it easier for average users to learn the basics of programming but also help developers solve more sophisticated problems in the code of their apps.
