Apple has announced that it will invest an additional one billion euros in Germany as a development location over the next six years to expand its Silicon Design Center in downtown Munich.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple says the investment will go towards the design and construction of a "state-of-the-art research facility" on Seidlstrasse, where Apple's research and development teams can "come together in new ways to enhance collaboration and innovation." Johny Srouji, Apple's senior vice president of hardware technologies, expressed<\/a> as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our research and development teams in Munich are critical to our efforts to develop products that are more powerful, more efficient and more energy-efficient. The expansion of our European silicon design center will enable even closer collaboration between our more than 2,000 engineers in Bavaria working on groundbreaking innovations such as custom silicon design, energy management chips and future wireless technologies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Silicon Design Center Munich: Apple accelerates expansion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In addition to the new Apple location on Seidlstrasse, the teams will move into several additional research and development rooms on Denisstrasse and Marsstrasse as part of the expansion of the Silicon Design Center. The three new locations are located opposite Apple's recently opened research and development center on Karlstrasse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with the development sites in Arnulfstra\u00dfe and at Hackerbr\u00fccke, the new facilities form Apple's European Silicon Design Center, which is centrally located in Munich's Maxvorstadt district. announcement<\/a> follows an earlier investment commitment from Apple of \u20ac1 billion in 2021, when Apple made Munich the headquarters of its European Silicon Design Center.
