As expected, the current iOS 12.2 beta again contains hints of upcoming devices \u2013 after the AirPods 2, further details about the upcoming iPod touch are now following.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has been predicted for several months that a new iPod touch will be released this spring. Numerous rumors, iOS Beta Leaks<\/a> and a change in the trademark suggest that Apple will launch the 7th generation of the popular iPod touch. The launch is expected this month. Now Jonathan Mitchell has discovered new clues in the current iOS 12.2 beta about the device's features. According to this, the iPod touch 7 could appear without a home button and without the well-known notch of the iPhone X series. This is revealed by a small image of the device in the depths of the program code.<\/p>\n

Without biometric decryption?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The discovery suggests that Apple will deliver the iPod touch 7 without biometric decryption technology. The alternative would of course be Touch ID in the display \u2013 corresponding Apple patents<\/a> There is already one. Observers assume that Apple wants to save further costs in order to be able to offer the device even more cheaply \u2013 consequently, unlocking the iPod touch 7 would only be possible by entering a code. It also remains to be seen whether the iPod touch will have a front camera. It is speculated that Apple wants to offer the upcoming iPod touch mainly as a handheld console \u2013 a change of trademark<\/a> at least suggests that, so a front camera would be superfluous.<\/p>\n
