Yesterday evening, Apple released the third beta of iOS 12.2 for developers. This contains a few bug fixes and a few new features.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The current beta of iOS 12.2 has also been analyzed very closely. So far, developers have found references to unpublished products such as the AirPods 2<\/a>, new iPads \u2013 including a iPad mini 5<\/a> and a iPod touch<\/a>There was also a hint of Apple's upcoming magazine subscription service. Known innovations so far include new Animojis, Apple News in Canada and the ability to control various Smart TVs via the Home app.<\/p>\n

iOS 12.2 Beta 3 Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the course of the latest beta, Apple seems to have made further improvements to Facetime. Only recently, iOS 12.1.4<\/a> A serious bug in Apple's video chat service has been fixed. However, this seems to be another mistake<\/a> - this was also noticeable in iOS 12.2 Beta 2. According to this, there is a malfunction that prevents users from adding further contacts. The cause of the bug is not yet known - but Apple seems to have also solved the problem with iOS 12.2 Beta 3. Apple has also reworked the user interface of the Remote app again - it is now much darker than before. Apple has also made a cosmetic change to Apple News. Here, the word "Apple" has been replaced by the apple logo. Siri is also learning something new. With iOS 12.2 Beta 3, Cupertino's assistant can now suggest "Today at Apple" sessions in Apple Stores to the user.<\/p>\n

Confusion about loading indicator in the lock screen<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the second iOS 12.2 beta, the date display on the lock screen was replaced by the battery capacity. Many testers found the change annoying - no one could say for sure whether this was a mistake. Now it seems certain - it was a bug. With the third beta of iOS 12.2, the date display on the lock screen returns.<\/p>\n

Other innovations<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the future, app developers will be able to add additional subscription options to the apps. This should make more discount promotions possible. Users who cancel a subscription could receive a message with a new offer. Additional free months would be conceivable here - provided the cancellation is withdrawn. The various subscription packages could also be expanded this way.<\/p>\n
