New benchmark results of a possible new Mac with M2 Max processor have emerged, but do not show a dramatic improvement over the previous model.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The numbers on Geekbench relate<\/a> refers to a device that calls itself a "Mac14,6". References to this Mac were first discovered in July 2022. However, it is unclear whether it is a MacBook Pro or another device such as a new Mac Studio. As the leaker<\/a> As ShrimpApplePro found, the Geekbench data also contains details about the device's configuration. As reported, the device has 96 GB of RAM. That's more than a current MacBook Pro can offer but less than the Mac Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CPU is called the "Apple M2 Max" and the data shows that it is a 12-core processor clocked at 3.54 GHz. The single-core score is 1853 while the multi-core score is 13855. As a reminder, the M1 Max is 1787 single-core and 12826 multi-core according to Geekbench. This result - assuming it is not fake - shows that the M2 Max may not offer that much more performance than expected. The origin of the benchmark is unclear. It was originally claimed that a new MacBook Pro with an M2 Pro and M2 Max processor would be launched before the end of 2022.
