According to a new rumor, Apple's iPhone 15 series could get a titanium case with rounded edges, replacing the previous angular design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Twitter users<\/a> @ShrimpApplePro says the iPhone 15's rear edges will be rounded to create a new bezel, similar to the bottom edges of the body of Apple's latest 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. For comparison, the iPhone 14 models have a flat design with rounded edges reminiscent of the iPhone 4. The last model to feature rounded edges was the iPhone 11. Despite the switch to titanium, the iPhone 15 "will still have glass on the back," claims the source, who has provided accurate information in the past, although @ShrimpApplePro points out that the details are "still very early to consider them as such."<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New iPhone models with titanium casing?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This isn't the first time we've heard rumors that Apple is planning to make an iPhone out of titanium. Earlier this year, there were rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would have a titanium alloy body. But that didn't turn out to be true: The iPhone 14 models have a body made of aluminum and stainless steel. Compared to stainless steel, titanium has a relatively high hardness that makes it more resistant to scratches. That's why Apple has developed a blasting, etching, and chemical process that gives titanium cases a high-gloss finish that has a more attractive appearance. Apple has also been researching the use of thin oxide coatings that can reduce the appearance of oily fingerprints.
