In addition to announcing the new iPad and iPad Pro models, Apple also announced that iPadOS 16.1 and macOS 13 Ventura will be available shortly before the devices' release on October 26.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple has now confirmed<\/a>that iPadOS 16 has been delayed, that the first version will actually be iPadOS 16.1 and that it will be released on October 24th. In addition to the iPad operating system, macOS 13 Ventura is also scheduled to be launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPadOS 16.1 & macOS 13 Ventura are in the starting blocks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

iPadOS 16, the powerful operating system designed specifically for iPad, will be available starting Monday, October 24, and will be included free with the new iPad. iPadOS 16 will be available as a free software update for iPad (5th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), and all iPad Pro models.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However, the company stresses that the update offers certain features that are particularly suited to the new iPads. On Tuesday, Apple also announced that macOS Ventura will be released to the public on October 24. The operating system has been available in beta for developers and public testers since the summer. The new updates include more continuity features with iPhone and iPad, a multitasking feature called Stage Manager, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most important functions in macOS Ventura<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Stage Manager is a new way to work with apps and windows. It automatically organizes open apps and windows, with the current window in the center and other open windows on the left. Users can also group windows when working on specific tasks or projects that require different apps. Stage Manager works with other macOS windowing tools, including Mission Control and Spaces. A new feature called Continuity Camera lets Mac owners use their iPhones as a webcam. A Mac can automatically detect and use the iPhone's camera when it's nearby, without having to wake it or select it. For more flexibility, the iPhone can connect to the Mac wirelessly. Continuity Camera can also use the iPhone's ultra-wide camera to enable Desktop View, which simultaneously shows the user's face and an overhead view of their desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Handoff features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Handoff is now available for FaceTime, allowing users to start a FaceTime call on one Apple device and transfer it to another nearby Apple device. For example, users can start a FaceTime call on iPhone or iPad and then transfer it to Mac with one click, or start a call on Mac and then switch to iPhone or iPad. In Safari, family and friends can use Tab Groups to share their favorite websites in Safari and see what tabs others are viewing in real time. Users can also create a list of bookmarks on a shared home screen and even start an iMessages conversation or FaceTime call from Safari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big update wave on October 24th<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Mail, search has been updated to include recent emails, contacts, documents, photos, and more. You can also schedule emails and even cancel delivery after you've pressed Send. Mail now intelligently detects when elements such as attachments or cc's are missing from a message. Users can also set reminders to re-read an email at a specific date and time, and they receive automatic suggestions for following up on an email if they haven't received a response.
