Almost 12 months ago, the first rumors emerged that Apple wanted to replace the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro with a cutout. Now there is a new report that sheds further light on the topic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US blog MacRumors<\/a> has received details about the new iPhone 14 Pro notch from an anonymous source. According to the source, the pill and hole cutouts are not visually separated when the display is on but actually appear as a continuous, longer pill shape. Rather than maintaining the uneven aesthetic, it is believed that Apple has decided to turn off the pixels in the "dead space" between the cutouts to give the appearance of a uniform pill shape that is less distracting when viewing content on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The source also claims that Apple wants to visually expand the blacked-out areas around the cutouts to accommodate content there. For example, Apple could make the area a little wider to accommodate status icons on the left and right sides or even extend it downwards to a large rounded square when certain notifications are displayed. According to this, iOS will play a big role in relation to the new iPhone 14 Pro cutout. We will find out whether this is all true in the end next week, on September 7th at the latest.
