A new leak suggests that the iPhone 14 could have an improved fast charging function. There is talk of 30W - a significant jump from the 18 watts of the iPhone 13.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rumors are based on reports that an unnamed charger manufacturer is allegedly sending 30W iPhone 14 adapters to the media for early testing. The company apparently believes that Apple will promote 30W charging as a feature of the iPhone 14 series. At this point leak<\/a> There are no links or pictures, but the assumption is not far-fetched. The iPhone 13 Pro Max was able to be charged temporarily at 27W in a test, which suggests that 30W support is possible. Currently, an iPhone connected to an 18W PD USB-C power adapter charges 50 % of its battery in 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 30W charger would theoretically shorten this time significantly - but at the cost of significantly more heat generation. A higher wattage means faster charging, especially with a smaller battery like the iPhone's. But that also means more heat, less efficiency, and faster battery wear. It remains unclear whether 30W charging will be limited to the iPhone 14 Pro models or available for all iPhone 14 models. The limitation could also depend on the battery size, so only the "Max" models could get this feature. The iPhone 14 is expected to be unveiled at the "Far Out" event on September 7th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
