The controller still has simple controls with minimal latency, good analog audio transmission, and a lightning port for charging the iPhone. The controller uses very little power from the phone, which does not significantly affect battery life. The Backbone app also ensures that the controller is assigned the PlayStation name in games, so PlayStation fans do not have to translate the buttons from the common Xbox standards.
