Apple is testing a device with a foldable 9-inch display. Is this a brand new iPhone? In any case, an imminent launch is out of the question.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Twitter explained<\/a> Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple is "actively testing" a device with a 9-inch foldable OLED display and a PPI between the iPhone and iPad. This device will reportedly be used to test and verify key technologies of Apple's foldable display. Kuo expects Apple's foldable product development to initially focus on mid-size devices, followed by devices with larger displays, before eventually expanding to small devices like the iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuo also revised his prediction from last year that Apple would unveil its foldable iPhone as early as 2024, stating that it is now clear that this prediction must be revised to 2025 at the earliest. He added that Apple's first foldable device could be a hybrid of iPhone and iPad or simply a foldable iPad. Kuo was responding to a report<\/a> by The Elec, which claimed that Apple is working with LG to develop a foldable OLED display with an ultra-thin cover glass for future Apple tablets and notebooks. In February, display analyst Ross Young fueled rumors about Apple's work on large foldable devices, stating that the company is considering foldable notebooks with a screen size of around 20 inches.
