However, the file size limit of 100 MB has not been changed since then. According to iOS screenshots taken by WABetaInfo <a href=\"https:\/\/wabetainfo.com\/whatsapp-is-testing-sharing-media-files-up-to-2gb-in-size\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">divided<\/a> The Meta-operated service has in recent days released a new 2GB file size limit for some users in Argentina to test. Raising the limit to 2GB should make the platform more attractive for sharing video clips and other large media files, which are also transmitted securely using WhatsApp&#039;s end-to-end encryption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-whatsapp-konnte-das-ubertragungslimit-auf-2-gb-anheben\">WhatsApp could raise the transfer limit to 2 GB<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>It remains unclear whether the change is just a time-limited test or the start of a wider rollout. Since WhatsApp often tests new features that are still in development in this way, there is a good chance that this will become the norm for all users of the service in the future. Other new features that WhatsApp has been testing recently include the ability to conduct polls within groups on the chat platform and the option to respond to messages in the style of iMessage.
