Other sources report that the Apple Studio Display webcam quality issues are purely a software bug that can be fixed in software, as the display appears to be running a full version of iOS 15.4.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned in some of the early reviews of the Studio Display, the monitor's webcam has proven to be poor. At the time, it was reported that Apple had officially claimed it was a software issue and that there would be an update at some point. Now writes<\/a> Reviewer John Gruber, who was initially skeptical of Apple's claims, said there is reason to believe the company can fix the problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I should hold my breath after all. Several little birds familiar with the Studio Display, each bird independently of the others, tell me that the image quality issues are really a software problem.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Gruber notes that the display appears to be running iOS 15.4 in full. The software installed by Apple on the monitor has the same build number as the shipped iOS 15.4 and identifies itself accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A future software update could not only improve the image quality slightly but raise it to a level comparable to the iPad models with the same camera (the new Air and last year's Pros).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
