According to a new leak, iPadOS apps could become Quick Note-like floating windows instead of always opening in full screen mode \u2013 when a keyboard and trackpad are connected.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the iPad was introduced in 2010, every app has run in full screen mode. Since then, improvements like split view have been introduced, but all window management is in the hands of the user. Now, a new rumor suggests that could change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apple is developing an intelligent system for iPadOS. Apps will continue to open in full screen mode but will automatically shrink when connected to the keyboard and trackpad. Internally, it is called "Apple Mixer". We don't know if it will be included in iPadOS 16 or not, it is said to be M1 iPad exclusive.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The leaker Majin Bu does not mention any further Details<\/a>, except that the feature is said to be known at Apple as "Apple Mixer". So far, Majin Bu has been better known for hardware leaks, e.g. in connection with the resizing of the Apple Watch Series 7. It is not known whether an already opened app would recognize that the iPad is connected to a keyboard and then switch. So it remains to be seen whether Apple will introduce the feature in iPadOS 16 - at least the leaker is not sure.
