A new iMac Pro with MiniLED backlighting and an Apple Silicon chip could be released as early as June 2022, according to a display analyst.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants replied<\/a> to a question about the recent applications for approval<\/a>that the MiniLED iMac Pro "could launch in June." Young had previously predicted a spring launch for the all-new iMac, but pushed that forecast back to summer. At the time, Young said that panel shipments would begin in June, but the launch might not happen until August or September. The analyst's latest comments suggest he has received new information that has changed his forecasts again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A June launch could mean the new iMac Pro could be unveiled as part of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. In addition to the schedule, Young confirmed rumors that the iMac Pro will feature a MiniLED backlight, contrary to what some observers have claimed. Young said his company has heard reports that the device could feature 1,000 zones and more than 4,000 MiniLEDs. In addition to the switch to MiniLED displays, the new iMac Pro will likely feature some sort of M1 or M2 chip and a new design that brings it in line with the current 24-inch iMac.
