As indicated in the system strings (via 9to5mac<\/a>), the tool will help users go through Apple's trade-in process, where you can get credit toward your next Apple Store purchase when you trade in your old device. The tool uses the camera to detect cosmetic details of another device, likely including things like scratches, dents, or broken glass. Once the scan is complete, the tool sends the cosmetic details to Apple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
