Rumors about future iPhone models have long been nothing new. There are also sometimes reports about much later iPhone generations, as in the most recent case - the alleged iPhone 15 Pro.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a new rumor from the Brazilian website<\/a> Blog do iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro models could come without a physical SIM card slot. While the current iPhone models have a physical nano-SIM card slot and a digital eSIM, the report claims that the iPhone 15 Pro models, due to be released in 2023, will have two eSIMs instead to provide dual-SIM functionality. Dual-SIM mode allows users to use two phone numbers on one iPhone. This is useful if you use a data-only plan when traveling abroad or want to use a personal and a business phone number on the iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPhone 15 Pro rumors: How seriously should such reports be taken?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Admittedly, rumors should always be viewed with skepticism. However, there are sources that are much more trustworthy and yet are not always right. However, their statements carry more weight. What am I getting at? Since the iPhone 15 Pro is not expected until 2023, i.e. in just under two years, a lot could still change. If many independent sources make the same statement, such a report can definitely be taken more seriously, especially with regard to new iPhones. However, such a rumor has not yet been documented and is being spread by a website that is not an established source for Apple leaks. This does not mean that Apple<\/a> will not do without the SIM card slot at some point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that doesn't necessarily have to be the case with the iPhone 15 Pro. The elimination of the physical SIM would have the advantage of making the iPhone more waterproof. But such a device can only be marketed in countries where the eSIM service is available from all providers. Whatever. Actually, I wanted to refrain from such a rumor for once, but since many platforms write about it as if it were already certain, I felt obliged to provide more clarification. So, for now, no one can say for sure whether and when the SIM card slot will be eliminated.
